Top Ten Hawaiian Beaches

It’s impossible for Americans do discuss the world’s best beaches without mentioning the top beaches in Hawaii. Many Hawaiian beaches are world class, and their easy access to Americans gives these beaches an added bonus.

So if you’re looking for the best beaches in Hawaii, leave it up to the famed Travel Channel to help you decide where to kick back and enjoy the scenery in Hawaii. Here is a list of the Travel Channel’s Top Ten Hawaiin Beaches.

Waikiki Beach10. Waikiki Beach - Oahu - Pictured to the right, Waikiki Beach is probably the most famous Hawaiian beach that attracts 4 million travelers annually. It’s busy, and there’s a lot of action, which probably put it at number ten. It is also a good place for travelers wanting to learn how to surf since the waters are relatively calm.

9. Honaunau Bay - The Big Island - Think less sand, and more rocks. Honaunau Bay is known for its great diving, for both beginners and experts.

8. Kaanapali Beach - Maui - If your rich, or like to act like it, this is the beach for you. If you’re here, you’re more than likely at an exclusive, upscale resort in Hawaii. If you like luxurious destinations, Kaanapali Beach is for you.

7. Kauna ‘oa Beach - The Big Island - The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel keeps this beach private, pristine, and quiet. Only hotel guests are allowed here, so crowds are nowhere to be found.

6. Poipu Beach - Kauai - One of the few beaches that is serene and calm in all of Kauai. The water is only 3 feet deep in the bay, so its great for families with little kids.

5. Lahaina Beach - Maui - Romantic beach in an old fishing village. Tropical scenery is a key.

4. Hookipa Beach - Maui - Windsurfing, white sand, windsurfing, tall palm trees, and windsurfing are the favorites at this Hawaiian beach.

black sand3. Punalu’u Beach - The Big Island - This is the legendary black sanded Hawaii beach. The sand, which was formed from lava flows, is supposedly always warm.

2. The North Shore - Oahu - Made up of Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach, the North Shore plays host to the best surfing in the world during Pipeline, a world renowned surfing competition.

1. Lanikai Beach - Oahu - A favorite among photographers (evidence shown below), Lanikai Beac is a half mile of unspoiled beach. A nearby reef keeps the water calm, and the scenery is amazing.
